The Co-operative Revolution

Wecommunic8 were delighted to be commissioned by the Co-operative to work closely with them in the development of 'The Co-operative Revolution' Street Gallery exhibition. Playing a large part in content selection and overseeing the full image selection, we were able, together, to create an education and stimulating exhibition that ignited the imagination of its viewers. The exhibition was made up of 24 large scale image panels and accompanying caption panels. The caption panels featured archive images and interesting historical commentary about the Co-operative movement that began in Rochdale in 1944 along with information on International Co-op organisations and their roll in providing products and services to the modern market. The street gallery was launched on Brighton Promenade in July 2012 before embarking on a countrywide tour during 2012, 2013. It finished in January 2014 in Wrexham, Wales. The project was conceived as part of the United Nations year of Co-operatives and was a main feature at the Co-operative conference held at their new head office in Manchester.
