Igniting Ambition - Northampton

In 2011 Wecommunic8 were commissioned to create the 'Igniting Ambition' street gallery exhibition. With 24 stunning large scale images at 1.8 by 1.2 metres accompanied by  supporting caption panels, it profiled the various events that had been taking place throughout 2011 and 2012 as part of the the Igniting Ambition Festival and the 2012 Cultural Olympiad. As part of a programme specifically designed to promote the county’s rich cultural offer to local, regional, national and international audiences in advance of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Igniting Ambition Festival Street Gallery was commissioned by Graham Callister of Northamptonshire County Council. The exhibition was in place along Abington Street and in front of All Saints’ Church for eight weeks from February to early April. It was completely free to view and lit at night, allowing visitors to discover more about the fantastic arts and cultural events and ambitious projects and partnerships such as FLOW, FORMULA FASHION, SHINE, LION HEART and GODIVA AWAKES to name just a few.

After the exhibition, Graham Callister, Cultural Policy & Planning Manager said "Always responsive to client needs, Wecommunic8 excelled with regard to meeting the project brief, delivering a visually striking and highly impressive street exhibition".

"As the lead coordinator of the countywide 2011 Igniting Ambition Festival, Northamptonshire County Council was especially pleased to play its role in delivering such a fantastic exhibition. The Street Gallery provided the opportunity to learn more about the range of high quality events that have taken place to date across the county and some of the forthcoming highlights as part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad in Northamptonshire. Ultimately the exhibition demonstrated to both residents and visitors alike, what a great place Northamptonshire is to live and to work" - Cllr Heather Smith, Cabinet Member for Customer & Community Services, Northamptonshire County Council

"The Northampton Town Centre BID recognises the multiple benefits of the Igniting Ambition Street Gallery. Not only it is beautifully produced and looks great, but it helps to enrich the cultural offering of the town in which it is displayed, increasing footfall and showcasing the County we all live in. Wecommunic8 have done a great job and were a breeze to work with" -  Stephen Chown MRICS, Chairman, Northampton Town Centre BID and Northamptonshire Ambassador.
